Holidays are here! But, GNKs will never put on stop with their music. More performances/events coming up this holidays from Gamelan Naga Kencana!

1. 2nd March 2009 à Convocation/ Graduation Ceremony of the New York University.
Place/ Venue : Asian Civilisation Museum
Time : 7pm-7.30pm (Performance about 20-30mins)
No. of performers: max. 6
Playing 2 Ladrang and 2 Lancaran. Simple folk-song would be fine too.
Extra training only 1 day before 1 week of the event, in any day.

2. 19th-21st March 2009
Gamelan and wayang workshops happening at Republic Polytechnic.
Details: TBC

3. 22nd March 2009à Art3, an International arts company that believes in promoting the Arts to children.
Event: Puppet Street Show, going along with loud noise around from us.
Place/ Venue: Raffles City
Time: To be confirmed
No. of performers : As many as possible. The more the merrier.

President's Visit.
22nd July 2008
Tuesday
RP, at TEK (near W3)
Time of performance: 4.40pm
Attire: Black long sleeve top + Sarong bottom

Please take note:
Members:
The performance is after school, at 4.40pm. However, we need to be seated and dressed (all ready) by 4.15pm sharp.
OSG will be giving allowance and will release performers at 330pm. But, those who have UT, no allowance given. Skipping UT at own risk. Using IG as an excuse is not allowed.

Logistics:
We will need to move the instruments on 21st July 2008, Monday after training to the holding room nearby our performance area.
On the day of the performance (22nd July 2008), we need to arrange the instruments on performance area during 2nd breakout. ALL have to be down to help.

Preview of our performance will be on 14th July 2008, Monday. (Yes, this coming MONDAY!!!)
As you can see, we don't have much time, so additional training dates have been added.
Those who wants to perform has to attend these following trainings:
FRIDAY 18th July 2008, MONDAY 14th July 2008, Wednesday 16th July 2008, FRIDAY 18th July 2008, MONDAY 21st July 2008.
(Any cancellation of training dates will be notified.)

We will confirm the repertoire by this Friday.
So, this is what you have to do:
Send in:

1. The class that you are in on 22nd July 2008, Tuesday.
2. State whether you will have UT or not.
3. Those who are not performing and do not have UT, do inform us because we would need helpers to document the whole performance. (Taking video and snap shots.)

To all:
We would want to see and hear the other side of you!

If you can:

• Play non-gamelan instruments, (e.g. Saxaphone, Drums, Keyboard, Flute, Traditional Malay, Chinese or Indian instruments, Violin, etc.)
• Sing, (you can sing or you love to sing, we welcome both)
• or even Dance, (any types of dance will do)

let us know!

Also, those who have yet to discover the other side of you and still interested not to worry. Just let us know, too!

Take note!

Junior (year 1s) training will be every Wednesday, 5pm - 7pm. Attendance is compulsory.

Seniors are all required to come down, too, for Wednesday's juniors' training. This is an opportunity for all seniors to try instruments that they never try before. This provides an opportunity for all of us to learn other instruments. Attendance will be taken.

Senior training on every Monday, 5pm-7pm. Attendance is compulsory.

For Muslim men/boys, please come back after prayers.

Full Dress Preview Performance will be at 2:30pm at Gamelan Room, itself.
